Autograph Please!
March/April is not only IRA season in the brokerage world, but for our firm it's the time for the three R's...Reflection, Review and Raises.
With my boss in another city, heck he's in another STATE, a face to face review is a hit/miss proposition - so this year we did it over the phone. It was everything I expected.
- I'm FAB!
- Work too hard!
- Need to learn to delegate
- Improve Organization and Time Management
- I'm FAB!
Every pen, most in colors not really 'acceptable' for signing official documents, in my pencil cup was dried up. I realized I don't often write in pen, I like the 'correctablity' of pencils. In desperation, I started searching the 'catch all drawer' in my desk.. hoping. I found a green highlighter - but no - I think that would be rejected - and as I was about to give up and make the trek upstairs to the supply room for a new pen - I FOUND A SHARPIE!!
Nutt'n wrong with a Sharpie, it's just a bigger felt tip pen - right? Cautiously I removed the cap and scribbled on the test page that had failed to extract an ounce of ink from the other 11 pens tested before. IT WORKED!!
Quickly, before it the cosmos could shift and the ink dried to dust, I autographed and dated the last page of the review with a flourish! ah HA!
Now all I have to do is put it in the overnight so it makes it to the midwest from the northwest before Friday - when the HR Nazi insisted the document was needed.
